Starz Theater Company’s
Musical Theater Intensive

Young Performer Summit is Starz Theater Company’s signature three-day summer musical theater intensive designed to develop the whole performer.

Through focused training in acting, voice, and dance, students strengthen their technique, build performance confidence, and deepen their connection to ensemble. Every session is crafted to challenge performers at their level while supporting growth as an artist.

Led by an inspiring team of theater professionals, STC Creative Team members, and TPD/STC alumni, participants sharpen their skills, refine their storytelling, and take their passion for performing to the next level.

Young Performer Summit is built on the belief that growth as a performer and growth as a human being go hand-in-hand. YPS Students are challenged and championed every step of the way.

The intensive concludes with an onstage showcase for family and friends where each performer appears in up to four numbers.

Whether a student is seeking technical growth, performance experience, or connection within their theater community, YPS offers an exciting step forward in their training.

YPS Reflection from a Student

“This three-day intensive is such a powerful opportunity for young performers to develop their work ethic, creativity, and leadership skills. Being on the older end of the age range, I found myself carrying what I learned at YPS into school, work, and everyday life. Yes, it sharpens your ability to learn choreography and music on a deadline, but more importantly, it strengthens mental discipline. It teaches you to choose encouragement over frustration and to find joy in the moment instead of giving in to exhaustion.”

Small Teams - Big Connections

YPS welcomes all levels - from beginners to experienced performers! Our goal is for each student to feel challenged, but also inspired and supported. As part of registration, students will complete an experience form to help us place them on one of our four YPS Teams. Each team trains at its own level and works toward shared goals.

To encourage friendships and help students connect with instructors, team sizes are limited.

YPS Reflection from a Student

“YPS is one of my favorite experiences. I have been doing YPS for 4 years and I truly believe I am the performer I am because of it. There are so many different growing experiences no matter what level you are. You get to learn from incredible instructors with real world experiences. It is a whole weekend of doing what you love with the people you love. The staff is such a blessing in so many ways. Everyone is so encouraging and it is such a safe space to try new things and push yourself. I am forever grateful for the things I have learned and will continue to learn at YPS”
